  • Before starting the Fast Like a Girl protocol I was experiencing many premenopausal symptoms. I was having night sweats, total exhaustion, brain fog, heavy and achy legs, weight gain, and felt emotionally flat. I had started the FLAG program on my own after reading the book and began to experience changes from following Mindy Pelz’s guidelines. It was a few months in that I joined Dr. Vargas’s FLAG small group program. This is when I really began to notice huge differences in my body. Under Dr. Vargas’s support and guidance I learned how to really understand the impact of high glucose levels on my own body. I also learned the value of the longer fasts and how to navigate them so they were most impactful on my body and mind. It also made a huge difference connecting with the other women in the group as we shared what we were experiencing and working through. I have continued Fast Like a Girl and now have none of the symptoms of perimenopause that I was struggling with. I feel truly grateful to now look forward to this next phase of life and all that it brings. I share the principals, the Fast Like a Girl book, and Dr. Vargas’s programs with every woman I know that is experiencing hormonal imbalance. We are so lucky to have these resources and I feel very lucky to have Dr. Vargas as an ally in reclaiming our own health!
